Problem Note 42548: SAS® Deployment Registry incorrectly updated by invalid hot fix installation attempts
Attempts to apply a hot fix for a software component release that is not installed in
<SASHOME> and that does not appear in the SAS Deployment Registry will result in the addition of that software component release to the SAS Deployment Registry.
For example, if you have SAS Web Application Themes 9.24 installed, you will see the following in the SAS Deployment Registry report
If you attempt to apply a hot fix for SAS Web Application Themes 9.25, which is not installed in <SASHOME>, the SAS Deployment Registry will be updated to show
The null value for the Display Name field is an indicator that this record has been incorrectly added.
The added reference to ‘themes 9.25’ will not interfere with future attempts to add on SAS Web Application Themes 9.25 to the deployment, but a SAS Web Application Themes 9.25 hot fix cannot be successfully applied until the software component is fully installed.
While the SAS Deployment Registry is incorrectly updated with the new reference to the software component release, the hot fix installation does not apply any updates the SAS deployment. The hot fix installation will fail an error similar to
